Future Skills & Domains

The GenAlpha Project is all about skills and domains that will play a major role in our future. For us but more importantly for our kids’ future.

Some might change or disappear and new domains will appear over time.

For us it is important to keep an open mind to all developments and explore the opportunities for our kids.

Click on the links below for more detailed information on domains and 21st century skills.

We have identified several domains that we feel will play a major role in the future of our kids.

A domain represents an industry, -sector, -solution, -technology, -service or other emerging development in the world. We do not claim that these are the only domains that will influence our future and we continue to explore what’s happening around the world.

We very strongly believe it doesn’t hurt if we give our kids access to people, organisations and knowledge in these domains and let them explore and experience these domains for themselves.

All our events and activities – online or offline – are about these domains.

21st Century Skills 21st century skills comprise skills, abilities, and learning dispositions that have been identified as being required for success in 21st century society and workplaces by educators, business leaders, academics, and governmental agencies. 21st century skills are required for kids in preparation for success in a rapidly changing, digital society. Many of these skills are also associated with deeper learning, which is based on mastering skills such as analytic reasoning, complex problem solving, and teamwork. These skills differ from traditional academic skills in that they are not primarily content knowledge-based.
